CNC Programmer
We are on the lookout for a CNC Programmer who will play a vital role to the success of our machine shop. The position will require the programmer to be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, writing programs for CNC machines, NC machines and turning centers, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and the ability to maintain quality control standards with accuracy and precision at all times.
Duties:
- Working from a blueprint or model to develop CNC programs for production runs
- Write program for a CNC Turning Machine to turn ID and OD profiles
- Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates
- Supply operators with setup sheets and tool list as well as method and dimensions
- Modify existing programs for different machines
- Maintain tooling database
- Keeping a record of previous job programs and setup sheets
- Make manual program adjustments as necessary
- Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process
- Load programs in DNC
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Completion of a technical or associate degree program a plus
- Three years of experience with a wide range of CNC machine tools or NC machines
- Minimum three years working in the machine tool trade, quality department or as an apprentice
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of cutting tools
- Experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills
- Familiarity with Mastercam and GeoPath
- Basic math skills
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
