CNC Turning Center Machinist

We are seeking a CNC Turning Center Machinist who can work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC lathes according to op-sheets, selecting the appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, attachments. The candidate will be responsible for in process and final inspection.

Duties:

  • Fabricate items such as machine parts and tools
  • Parts may have multiple ODs and tolerances of plus or minus .001
  • Parts may have boring of IDs and threading of various types of threads
  • Set up CNC lathes according to blueprint specifications
  • Select and align holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
  • Conduct quality assurance checks
  • Make machine adjustments
  • Modify program speeds
  • Meet production schedules
  • Follow all safety regulations

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Two years of experience in operating a CNC lathe
  • Must be able to inspect work per blueprints and setup sheets
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and job process routing sheets
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to read, write and edit programs
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or training program
  • Journeyman-level experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing a plus
  • Familiarity with measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
  • Experience working with various metal and plastic materials
  • Technical ability and good math skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
