CNC Turning Center Machinist
We are seeking a CNC Turning Center Machinist who can work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC lathes according to op-sheets, selecting the appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, attachments. The candidate will be responsible for in process and final inspection.
Duties:
- Fabricate items such as machine parts and tools
- Parts may have multiple ODs and tolerances of plus or minus .001
- Parts may have boring of IDs and threading of various types of threads
- Set up CNC lathes according to blueprint specifications
- Select and align holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
- Conduct quality assurance checks
- Make machine adjustments
- Modify program speeds
- Meet production schedules
- Follow all safety regulations
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED certificate
- Two years of experience in operating a CNC lathe
- Must be able to inspect work per blueprints and setup sheets
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and job process routing sheets
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to read, write and edit programs
- Completion of an apprenticeship or training program
- Journeyman-level experience a plus
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing a plus
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
- Experience working with various metal and plastic materials
- Technical ability and good math skills
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
