CNC VTL Machinist
At Reno Machine, the CNC VTL Machinist will be responsible for setting-up, adjusting and operating a variety of CNC machines per op-sheets and blueprints with little to no supervision while maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment supplies. Machine parts may have multiple shapes with steps, profiles, tolerances of plus or minus .001 or have multiple OD and ID threads.
Duties:
- Fabricate items such as machine parts and tools
- Set up CNC lathes according to blueprint specifications
- Select and align holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into machines
- Conduct quality assurance checks
- Make machine adjustments
- Modify program speeds
- Meet production schedules
- Follow all safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in operating a CNC VTL or equivalent type of machine
- A high school diploma or GED certificate
- Completion of an apprenticeship or training program
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and job process routing sheets
- Journeyman-level experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing a plus
- Familiarity with measuring tool such as micrometers and calipers
- Experience working with various metal and plastic materials
- Excellent problem-solving and math skills
- Technical ability and basic math skills
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
