Senior Accountant
The Reno companies operate in two distinct industries and require a candidate that can effectively operate in and seamlessly pivot between both on a fluid basis. Reno Machine Company, Inc. with its wholly owned subsidiary, Design Company, Inc. manufactures and designs precision aerospace parts and components. Reno Properties et al owns and/or manages twenty plus real estate entities, some of which are 100% owned by inside stakeholders while others have participation in ownership by outside investors.
Job Description Summary:
The Senior Accountant is a “hand on” role actively performing the day-to-day accounting functions of the various and unique Reno entities as well as assisting the Controller in maintaining the general ledger and with the month-end close process. As a member of our accounting team, you will organize, analyze, and verify our various financial transactions and reports to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have some proven experience in the manufacturing and real estate industries as an accountant.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monthly bank reconciliations for multiple entities.
- Managing accounts receivable which includes:
- Issuing invoices to and collecting payments from customers; Process cash receipts and prepare bank deposits
- Maintain an accurate general ledger.
- Creating journal entries for all accounts including fixed assets.
- Preparing and remitting sales and use tax returns.
- Assist controller with G/L account reconciliations such as CAM and other analysis as needed.
- Assist controller with special projects, monthly, and year-end financial reporting.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee billing and payable clerks and identify training needs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills· Proficiency with standard accounting software, including Quickbooks
- Experience with Yardi and/or JobBOSS2 is a significant plus.
- Experience in recording and reconciling intercompany transactions.
- Proficient in accounting software in general and QuickBooks in particular.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel utilizing pivot tables is a big plus.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to learn and grow in a multifaceted organization.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in business, accounting, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- 10+ years proven accounting experience is a plus.
