Tooling Estimator
Tooling Estimator Job Summary:
As a Tooling Estimator, you will determine production capacity, evaluate cost estimates, review lead times, determine risk, and present your analysis to upper management. This position is excellent for anyone with critical thinking skills and a positive team-oriented attitude looking to improve their skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Communicate with management regarding projects.
- Gather data from various departments to analyze labor, material, and production time.
- Estimate costs by looking at the entire project.
- Identify crucial factors and risk level that influence cost.
- Review blueprints for legibility and completeness.
- Compare revision changes against tool/part number.
- Present cost and lead time estimate to upper management.
- Prepare and submit quotes to customers.
- Source material and commercial item pricing/lead time
Job Skills and Requirements
- Three to five years of experience with a wide range of machine tools, auxiliary equipment, and quality.
- Minimum of three years working in the machine tool, quality department or apprenticeship.
- Ability to understand technical drawings.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Very detail oriented.
- Amazing analytical and math skills.
- Flexible to work long hours to meet project deadlines.
Pay: $30-$34 per hour based on experience
