Paul’s Up-Close Glance at Reno’s Uniquely Large Machining Capabilities

On Thursday, April 4, CNC-based manufacturing facility Reno Machine and engineering subdivision Design Company hosted Chief Manufacturing Officer of Connecticut, Paul Lavoie. The visit, held at Reno’s state-of-the-art 5-axis machine shop on Pane Road in Newington, offered Lavoie an exclusive look at some of the largest components manufactured in Connecticut, showcasing Reno’s ongoing commitment to large-format machining, innovation, and career development.

Highlighted during the tour was Reno’s decade-long collaboration with RTX. Additionally, the tour featured the manufacturing of massive 15-foot copper plates that will be utilized for the advancement of clean power generation.

Reno foresees exponential expansion in the upcoming years, fueled by their steadfast commitment to achieving excellence in precision machining. The visit by Paul Lavoie signifies a pivotal advancement for the company. In addition to touring Reno’s manufacturing facility, Lavoie offered valuable insights to Reno’s leadership team, including information on essential grants and funding opportunities accessible through state and agency channels. Moreover, Lavoie provided an insider’s perspective on statewide recruitment initiatives, potential paths to enhanced automation, and an invitation to utilize the Officer’s deep network of connections to foster new customer relationships to facilitate future growth.
